The tour begins with crossings over bamboo and wooden bridges, typical of Vietnam’s countryside. You will then visit historic sites, including forgotten tunnels built by the Vietminh during the war, before meeting a family of farmers and exploring their traditional wooden home.
Afterward, you will make several ferry crossings on the Thu Bon River before stopping for lunch in a small local restaurant, where you will taste a specialty made from rice noodles (vegetarian meals available upon request). The experience continues with learning how different varieties of rice pancakes are prepared and visiting an ancient weaving village, where a family still uses colonial-era looms. You will also stop at a small country market to discover and sample some of the local products.
Depending on the season and the rural activities taking place during your visit, many surprises may await you. These could include planting or harvesting rice, watching peanuts being pressed to make oil, or even being invited to a ceremony. The people living in the countryside are always welcoming and happy to receive visitors.
Throughout the day, your guide will lead you along quiet paths away from traffic. At times, you will cycle through rice fields, pass by small villages where children greet you with cheerful hellos, follow riverside trails, and ride between crops of tobacco, peppers, papayas, and other fruits and vegetables. The route also takes you through shaded forest paths and gives you the chance to see buffaloes cooling off in the mud.
This full-day tour offers a truly unique and exclusive itinerary through the Vietnamese countryside.
